Legacy end Vitality's winstreak!
We did not need to wait too long to see magic happen at the Stage 3 of the BLAST Austin Major. Vitality, undeniable best team in the world, arriving in Texas with a 30+ series winstreak just bowed down to Legacy in their opening match up. How did that happen and what does it mean for the future?
Ambition and fortune for Legacy
As Vitality won the first pistol round, Legacy answered back immediatly with a B hit that took the defense by surprise. Considering the way Counter-Strike's economy work, this was the best start the Brazilians could hope for. This round was a sign of things to come, as Legacy kept on applying an incredible pressure onto the B bombsite. Great utility usage insured they would almost always win the damage trade game. On top of that, shaky aims on the side of apEX and flameZ allowed Legacy a couple of comfortable entries. One also has to mention the severe amount of smoke kills that Legacy found in the first half. Even during correct read from the Vitality defense, a few situations were turned around due to fantastic and fortunate frags through smokes. Legacy were not going to be denied today.
An atrocious symptomatic clutch
As Vitality struggled to come back into the game after a 9:3 scoreline, the possibility of a comeback was still here. The pistol round was lost by ZywOo and his crew but in the following forcebuy round, they quickly found favorable trades to gain access to the A bombsite. This was supposed to be the moment to regain control of the game and the momentum. Unfortunately, a naive wandering mezii offered Legacy a way back into the 2vs3 and Vitality folded like dominos.

Overall, this felt like a much deserved victory. Saying anything else would be hypocritical. Nobody, from Vitality, was genuinely capable of putting up multikills to reverse the tide of the game. That includes ZywOo and ropz. The best player in the world and his right hand were silenced by Legacy's efficacy. Now, this might just be a warning sign, not quite an alarm. Vitality will have the opportunity, later today, to correct course and position themselves in the 1:1 category. In the event of another loss, the best team in the world would face elimination starting tomorrow already. Stay tuned!
