ROSTERMANIA continues with Virtus.Pro & NaVi!
We anticipated that the summer break would be full of surprises and we have been served already. Between confirmed changes and spicy rumours, movement is happening left right and center in the Counter-Strike sphere. Let's have a look at what we know so far.
Perfecto reunites with electroNic in VP
The inactivity of Perfecto comes to an end. After having spent more than a year on the bench, the Major Champion has been signed by Virtus.Pro, replacing FL4MUS and joining forces with electroNic. After a relatively chaotic and tumultuous season, it seems like signing Perfecto may have been a saving grace for VP. Reportedly, fame and FL1T had even considered departing the roster, leaving the door open for a complete disband. Unfortunately, FL4MUS is left on the bench. Visibly never able to find his comfort zone, he himself said that nerves and tension had gotten to him and was never capable of displaying his best Counter-Strike.
Could this move spark an upward trajectory for Virtus.Pro? The optimistic will focus on the experience that Perfecto brings. Always touted as an extremely intelligent player by all his teammates, the veteran should be capable of bringing not only stability but also initiative and mid-round calls. As electroNic has been critized in the past for his in-game leading style, having his former teammate by his side might just make a difference.
Natus Vincere promote Makazze, but for who?
Regarded as one of the hot prospects of the moment, Makazze has received the call up to the main roster from the academy by Natus Vincere. One can only support the decision to trust the next generation as examples of prodigies keep popping up in the last few years of CS (m0NESY, donk, ZywOo). Everybody is out to find the next diamond in the rough.
Yet this is only half the fun of the situation. In an unusual and unexpected way, Natus Vincere so far have kept a degree of mystery as to whose position Makazze would fill. Following the forums and the fans' theorycrafting, three scenarions seem possible;
(1) jL gets replaced
In this scenario, Makazze would be trusted with high value positions such as the flankings of the T side and its subsequent clutches. This could give him all the space necessary to shine but would amount to a great pressure from the very get go.
(2) iM gets replaced
As part of the attack group, Makazze could flow within the group more naturally from the beginning. One of the issues, still, could stem from the work as "co-leader" that iM was reportedly putting in for Natus Vincere. Aleksib would lose an important voice and there would have to be a step up from everybody else to compensate and offer solutions.
(3) Aleskib gets replaced, iM leads
By far the most exotic interpretation of the whole situation. Looking for more "firepower", Natus Vincere could decide to sideline their historical leader, trusting iM with the task in the future and slotting in Makazze. This would mean a total revamping of the philosophy and the beginning of a new collaboration between iM and Blad3. We've seen crazier in Counter-Strike. Stay tuned for more!
