Spirit join ROSTERMANIA, remove magixx!

As Cologne approaches and the summer break comes slowly to an end, one of the best teams in the world has just announced a first step in revamping their line-up. Team Spirit has decided to put magixx on the bench after a tenure of more than six years! We have learned the news today reported by HLTV.

Exceptional in Shanghai, quiet after

Clearly one of the most selfless player on the roster, magixx, although inconsistent at times, had delivered a phenomenal performance in the last stretch of the Shanghai Major last year, allowing Spirit to lift the ultimate trophy.

A monumental Grand Final dazzled the community

Unfortunately, magixx was seemingly never able to reproduce such high level. Aside from his rare secondary sniper duties, the anchor generally was left with little ressources to work with, often yiedling shotguns and SMGs to make sure all financial means were directed towards donk and sh1ro. Amidst these conditions and following disappointing results in 2025 (for a team of Spirit's caliber), echoes of changes had started to come through in Spirit. We were not sure whether zont1x or magixx would find themselves in the ejection seat.

zweih targeted, no more changes after?

HLTV also reported earlier that Spirit were interested in zweih. The star anchor from Nemiga turned a lot of eyes in his first Major appearance in Austin. Due to his defensive roles, it had been clear that zont1x or magixx would have to give up their position for him. It is unclear at the moment whether this is the only change we will witness from the side of Spirit. It does seem like a potential change of leadership will not be on the table and chopper will continue to have the trust from his management.

zweih was brilliant in Austin Stage 2

Spirit are still looking to play catch up with Vitality after a relatively poor first season of 2025. As a matter of fact, only one trophy has been won during PGL Astana. Importantly, the playing field was significantly lower with meaningful absentees during the event. In their lowlights, Spirit have lost series to NaVi, MOUZ, Falcons & Vitality. The changes come as the consequence of these unfortunate early exits. We're yet to see whether zweih's addition is confirmed and, would it be the case, what level he can quickly show at elite tournaments.
